The client is a startup in the transportation and warehousing industry. They built a small website but had not invested in SEO until this time. Their main goal was to rank on the first page for their most important service keyword.

Strategies

On-Page SEO

  • I analyzed top-ranking competitors to determine what keywords to target and what type of information to include

  • We optimized the service landing page content to help rank for the target keyword as well as related long-tail keywords

  • They created related blog posts to build out the knowledge graph around the topic

Internal Link Optimization

  • We optimized the internal link structure to ensure the service page was in the navigation and being internally linked from other key site pages

Backlinks

  • I did a backlink analysis to determine the backlink gap and backlinks velocity of high-ranking competitors in order to inform our backlink strategy

  • The final recommendation was to earn 12 backlinks in a range of domain ratings over 3-6 months
